ABOUT ME
Putting My Values and
Experience to Work
I am a lifelong South County resident and everyone in my family is an alumni from the district. I am the co-founder and managing partner of a small communications company. I have 22 years of youth and education-based volunteer experience. I have also organized food drives and scholarship programs.
My personal core values are unity, ambition, compassion, self-belief, and service. I created this list of values for myself a couple of years ago to help me define what makes me happy and to help me determine what I would like to do with the rest of my life.
If elected to the Mehlville School District Board of Education, I will use my core values, professional experience, and volunteer experience to advance the mission of the district. I will also endeavor to build unity, invoke compassion, and inspire ambition on the board, while striving to make the district an entity that is considered the top performing educational institution in the region.

My decisions will be determined by what is best for the students of the district and what helps them develop into individuals that will have meaningful and successful lives.
District Needs
I am not an educator and do not intend to dictate how teachers should do their jobs. The best thing any organization can do is hire competent professionals and enable them to do their jobs to the best of their ability. From a business and mission standpoint, I believe the items that should be considered within the district are categorized into short-term and long-term needs. Short-term needs include:
-
Retaining and recruiting high quality teachers
-
Addressing the shortage of qualified substitutes
-
Maintaining excellent fiscal performance
-
Focus on improving test scores while instilling self-confidence in all students
From a long-term perspective, my belief is centered around this core idea:
All school districts should prepare their graduates to be productive members of society who believe in themselves and exhibit compassion for others, while maximizing their potential to lead happy, healthy, successful lives. This should be the goal for all students, independent of their academic performance or the life path they may choose.
Professional Experience
My professional experience includes creating brand and marketing communications for large scale corporations such as Ascension, AT&T, Conagra Foods, Edward Jones, Enterprise, John Deere, Millipore Sigma, Nestle Purina, Rawlings, Southwest Airlines, and many others.
As a small business owner, I also have experience creating financial projections, creating and managing budgets, reading and understanding business financial documents, and investing in and developing small scale commercial real estate.
My career accomplishments include:
-
20-time Mid-America EMMY® Award Winner
-
Missouri Humanities Council Governors Award Winner
-
Cine Golden Eagle Award Winner
-
American Advertising Award Winner
-
Co-Producer/Director – The World’s Greatest Fair
-
Co-Producer/Director – Gateway Arch Documentary
The success I have had professionally is a direct result of the teams of people I have worked alongside and led.
